Fresh Spaces. Timeless Design

Address: 42 Ridge Hollow Lane, Concord, MA
Type: Private Residence
Completion: 2024

Tucked gently between woodlands and winding paths of New England, the Ridge Hollow Residence makes no attempt to dominate its surroundings. Instead, it settles in—quietly, confidently—through a language of proportion, warmth, and restraint. Rather than chasing trends, the home reflects a deeper understanding of scale and atmosphere. It’s an architectural story written not with exclamations, but with commas and pauses, layers and light.

Living
The living spaces are grounded in a palette of layered neutrals—creams, oatmeals, and soft browns—anchored by a generous oak coffee table and slipcovered seating. A limestone fireplace provides a gentle focal point, while arched openings and vintage-inspired fixtures allow light to flow naturally from one room to the next. There’s a sense of stillness here, not from emptiness, but from intention.

Dining
Dining areas vary in tone but stay within a shared language. One room opens to the woods through a soft arch, its oak table surrounded by woven-back chairs beneath a slender iron chandelier. Another features deeper tones: forest green cabinetry, black fixtures, and vintage pendant lighting. The contrast is subtle, thoughtful—never dramatic for the sake of drama.

Kitchen
The kitchen balances form and function with a quiet boldness. Walnut cabinetry, creamy marble countertops, and aged brass taps speak of utility and beauty in equal measure. Brick flooring in warm red tones adds depth, while built-in niches and open shelving keep the space feeling lived-in rather than staged. Some spaces offer contrast through pale oak and emerald tile; others embrace a monochrome sensibility.

Passage
Hallways are more than connectors—they are moments. Arched doors, inset windows, and soft textiles make each transition feel gentle. Artworks and collected vessels appear almost accidentally perfect. Light filters through linen, bouncing off wood-paneled walls and plaster surfaces in hushed rhythm.

Bedroom
Bedrooms invite retreat. Tones deepen into olive, rust, and wine. Belgian linen layers over hand-knotted rugs; the headboards are soft, the lighting warm. A carved mirror leans casually on the wall. In another room, the palette lifts slightly—sun-washed stone on the walls, a modest bench at the foot of the bed. Always balanced. Always quiet.

Bath
The bathrooms lean into texture. Zellige tiles, limewashed walls, and unlacquered brass age beautifully with time. Twin basins stand under arched mirrors; vintage sconces soften the scene. In one room, industrial piping is softened by floral tilework. In another, a window opens over a freestanding tub, framing the treetops beyond.

Stair
The staircase moves with the home’s rhythm—solid oak treads, matte black spindles, no ornament beyond what’s needed. It turns without flourish, following the natural logic of the space. Light drapes along the wall, as if painting with shadow.

Materials & Palette
Wood: White oak flooring, walnut and oak cabinetry, and cherry-stained accents throughout.
Textiles: Belgian linen drapery, boucle upholstery, hand-knotted wool rugs, and cotton bedding.
Accents: Patinated brass fixtures, ceramic vessels, iron-framed lighting, hand-turned stools, and framed vintage oil paintings.
Colors: Rooted in nature—earthy browns, deep forest greens, soft whites, clay reds, and warm blacks.

The Ridge Hollow Residence doesn’t demand attention—it earns it. Through restraint. Through rhythm. Through materials chosen not to impress but to endure. It’s a home that lets life unfold inside it, quietly, beautifully, over time.
