After understanding the project’s environment, architecture, and layout, we select the essential furniture and lighting to define each space. We focus on meeting your specific needs for design, quality, and comfort, creating a unified and balanced atmosphere throughout the home.
LIGHTING
Lighting plays a crucial role in defining the mood and atmosphere of each room. We carefully select lighting fixtures that not only provide the right illumination but also complement the space’s design. Whether it's a statement chandelier or subtle recessed lighting, each piece is chosen to enhance the room's overall aesthetic, creating a warm and inviting environment.
Décor
Once we’ve selected the key furniture pieces to establish balance and symmetry, we then curate distinctive items to give each room its own unique character. Art, textiles, and decorative pieces are chosen to complement the home’s architecture and design style. 1997
The Beginning
Ardenel was born in Napa Valley, California—first as a modest workshop crafting bespoke lighting for wine estates and private residences. From the start, we valued honesty in materials, integrity in form, and quiet, confident beauty.
2004
A Bridge to the East
We discovered the unmatched depth of Asian craftsmanship—drawn especially to the precision of Japanese woodworking and the scale and adaptability of Chinese manufacturing. That same year, we began building deep, long-term partnerships with artisans and factories in southern China, many of which continue to this day.
2010
The Maker Behind the Brand
With a growing cult following among interior designers and boutique hotels, Ardenel opened its flagship design house in Sausalito, blending West Coast modernism with Old World craftsmanship.
2015
Stepping Into Our Name
Years of quiet dedication gave us the foundation to grow. With a sharpened vision and the freedom to create without compromise, we began developing original collections under the Ardenel name—infusing every piece with the depth of global craftsmanship and the soul of California design.
2021
Digital and Direct
We opened our direct-to-consumer platform, allowing clients across the world to experience our pieces firsthand—no showroom needed. Every product is still crafted with intention, shipped directly from our artisan partners to homes and design studios across the U.S.

Nearly Three Decades On
Today, Ardenel remains proudly independent. We continue to design with longevity in mind, choosing authenticity over trends, and building pieces meant to be passed from one generation to the next.

Spring Bud Program
Since its inception in 2023, Ardenel has been committed to annually supporting the China Children's and Teenagers' Fund, with a particular focus on girls from Tibet. This initiative has provided a safe and loving home for over 50 children, offering them the opportunity to live, learn, and build a brighter future.
Educating for the Environment
Rooted in sustainability, our brand proudly supports the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies in its mission to promote environmental responsibility. Through programs like naturalist training, youth education, and sustainable agricultural practices, we help cultivate a future where environmental awareness thrives.
Growing Strong
Since 2017, we have partnered with environmental organizations worldwide, including American Forests, the nation’s oldest conservation group. Our mission is to plant one million trees globally, enhancing water resources, protecting wildlife, supporting community development, and contributing to the fight against climate change.
